Press Update by Justin

Scott and Liza were out in NY this week doing some interviews with a few big-time media outlets (I’ll be sure to post them on here when they come out). While they were there, Scott did an interview with CNBC’s show, Squak Box. This is what Liza said about the whole experience:

This was such a wild experience. In the heart of NYC is this huge studio (picture the Today Show studios where people can stand on the street and watch tapings. The NADAQ studios look exactly the same. So we were whisked in, Scott was immediately thrown in front of a camera; they attached a microphone to him and put on his earpiece. I went back into the control room to watch the interview. At first I was worried because I look at the monitors and Scott is making faces and drinking his water on camera. I’m thinking OH NO! WHAT IS HE DOING?! But then I heard him counting to 10 and figured he had either lost his mind or they were working on getting his sound just right. (Turned out to be the latter.)

The interview was great and Scott spends a lot of time talking about the business side of ChaCha, not just the revolution in search that is usually covered.

The Sydney Morning Herald
did a story on us a little over a week ago and introduced ChaCha down under. We had a great response on this piece and received a boat load of really positive comments after it ran. Australia seems to think we’re pretty cool!

The Indy Star.
This morning our local paper, The Indy Star, wrote a story on us that puts our position in Social Search into a little more context.

Current in Carmel.
This is the even more local paper.  It’s small, but they give a great overview of ChaCha.

Campus Technology.
This is a really great article that puts a lot of emphasis on the Underground and social-networking aspects of ChaCha.

In slightly related news…

DSC07920_3.jpgLast time Liza was in NY she took on Times’ Square traffic to get a shot of the Naked Cowboy for us. This time she was able to get her picture with Clive Davis (founder of Arista Records and pretty big deal). Liza (and all of Dittoe PR) rocks so hard that I’m surprised Clive didn’t approach her with a record contract and a tour schedule opening up for P-Diddy.

That was an incredible interview Scott! It explains a great deal to me…and I just love being a part of this ground breaking idea. What a great mind! This has been an grand adventure for me and many of the guides. Thanks so much!

First off I just wanted to say great job. Way to get the ChaCha name out there. I love hearing about it! Secondly I just wanted to express some concern. I don’t know if you have looked at the comments after the Sydney Herald Story but there is a comment made by someone who is speaking as though they are a guide that I don’t feel is a great representation of the guide community! Just wanted to let other guides know its okay to be frustrated sometimes, but complaining about it in public forums is only going to hurt us. Maybe we should remember that this is Beta and all be patient. I know everyone at HQ is working really hard to improve this for us guides! Hope everyone has a wonderful hoilday season!

  3. I think Cha Cha is Great ,reading some of the articles from Sydney Herald Story, must of the neg’s
were from being to slow. At the current pay scale we are paid no more than 10 min max some guides may be going slow to collect the max amount, Could you look at maybe paying a bonus to the guides who get great results with quick accurate searches. Example( Say a guide does 10 searches at an average time limit 20 minutes and gets great ratings on all ten searches that guide would get a $20.00 bonus.A guide that did 10 searches and took 100 minutes would be back charged $20.00. Just food for thought.
Thanks Cha Cha for giving people all over a golden dream to come true!

Hey–O.K. great publicity and results too. Now, when do I get invited to meet you guys when you are out east. Just a couple of stops on the LIRR or short drive.
Maybe you should think about contacting Newsday on Long Island. well, I am here for you!!
    Happy to be so.

  5. Wow, I am so amazed with ChaCha.  I had to wait for an invite to join.  I was truthfully bummed that I had to wait.  But, after not keeping an eye on my email, it was around 2-3 weeks later when I received it.  And only the non-imaginable… there was an invite from this nice man named Benjamin (I hope I spelled his name right?).  So, I quickly went and opened the e-mail, rushed to get my W-9 over and, they hadn’t gotten it yet.  Well, a few days later, still ChaCha had not received a fax from me. Now, I didn’t know much about ChaCha; but I knew in my own heart that whatever was pulling me closer to it was going to be an incredible opportunity, at least for myself.  I finally get an e-mail that they (ChaCha) received my form.  Yeah!!  I was ecstatic.  I was calling a few friends up and bragging so much.   So, I go in my “App” and I can’t figure out how to run this big grey box in front of me.
Now mind you, I was given a few links to train and then go into the Underground to get trained further.   I was getting so excited; I was actually getting more bummed out…it wasn’t working.  I was upset at this time but, very optimistic to still push the limits.   Whatever it was, I was going to do it…I remained persistent to get this going.  Finally a few weeks ago, was when I was online and not only training, but training other Guides, helping people out with their searches and so forth. Now, I don’t know where my pushing limits came from, but I am sooo happy that I followed through.  You know I had done at home jobs before, and they didn’t go anywhere…except a few little checks and, a big headache. Well, even if I do get a headache from Cha-Cha… it’s going to be so worth it!  I just can’t say enough about ChaCha.  It has changed the way I see working from home and jobs in general.  I feel like at the end of working for the day or night that I am complete.  I literally helped someone out there search deeper.  I always enjoyed loved and was always interested in helping people out.  Now, I have an awesome job, I can train on my keywords, learn to get better, meet and great friends and Guides and brag officially about “ChaCha”!  ChaCha to me is like the joy you have when you give birth, except with out all the pain (lol).  I have seen such an improvement with all the men and women who started this company. I am forever grateful and, I feel I am in great hands.  For any of you that are reading this and thinking “How can ChaCha be such a good thing??” I am going to answer you with this my friends:  Take a step into the future, open your eyes, see what’s in front of you and be thankful. You have such an opportunity to be a Guide for an amazing bunch of people I call my family.  I am faithfully your ChaCha Guide, unconditionally —as someone called me a few days ago in a blog that I had responded to some negativity about ChaCha.  I will never forget this person (the name is Jaime, which I do remember).  They had responded (posted) to my current blog saying “ChaCha Guides ROCK” !  This person is totally correct.  I am a ChaCha Guide that ROCKS and I will be for a very long time!  Keep up the awesome work ChaCha!   Oh and did I mention I love the incentives too?? =} ……
