Hungry for Love by Justin

This is post is for all of our ChaCha Guides.

You know what we love more than even our espresso machine? We like when people write to us and tell us stories of how ChaCha saved the day (or to a lesser extent: was good).

Go check out the very first ChaCha Blog entry ever to see what I mean.  We want good, specific stories.
Pretty soon you’ll notice a nice little area on the right that’s there for the sole purpose of people telling us the ways ChaCha has worked out really well for them. So do me and all of ChaCha a favor… click on that little link that says “Comments” up there and tell us about a search you performed or one that you helped with where you were blown away by how well it worked.

FEED ME TESTIMONIALS!

Wanna know one more thing we like? Like, really, really like? Seeing all of your pretty faces on the Underground and knowing more about you.

Here’s the way I think about it. If ChaCha was a regular job, then the Underground would be like the office. So I want to try and make sure we all do what we can to make it a lively and interpersonal work environment.

That means two things:

First: Put a nice picture of yourself on your profile. You’re all much better looking than this little grey man. I mean, he doesn’t even have a nose. Let me show you an example…

JustinK Picture: Good

Default Avatar: Bad

Second: Introduce yourself to your co-workers. Fill in your “What I’m Into” and “What I’m Up To” sections. This couldn’t be easier. When you’re at your profile page in the Underground, click the little green edit button that looks like this Picture 2.png. Then enter what you like most or what you’re doing when you’re not ChaCha-ing. It will add a whole lot of personality to your profile and the Underground as a whole.

So if you don’t have your picture on there, please do. If you don’t have a scanner or digital camera, you can even send your picture to me and I’ll scan it in there for you. But if you really don’t want to, that’s cool too. At least take the ten seconds to tell everyone a little bit about yourself and how cool you are.

We do it all the time, it’s actually pretty fun.

Tell us your story. Upload your picture. Fill in your info. Make ChaCha even more alive.

  1. You know Justin, I really like the sense of humor around here. It seems like you guys must have fun workng together. I’m really looking forward to having a forum for guides!

  2. For as many hours as we work in such tight quarters, I’ve never ever seen a group get along and have as much fun as we do in spite of the stress of such a huge undertaking. I think it bodes extremely well for ChaCha and I’m glad that’s showing up outside of ChaCha HQ!

    Thanks for your comment, Georgia!

    Cheers

    Justin

  3. I also wanted to tell you about a great exchange I had with a user searching for baby carrier patterns. She wasn’t using the correct search terms and couldn’t find what she wanted. Being familiar with them, I was able to pull up exactly what she wanted in the first result and she was ecstatic!

Once the kinks get worked out and we get more guides on board, I think this is going to be a terrific system!

Hi! I love reading the blog and to know what\’s going on at ChaCha HQ.   Thank you and keep up the GREAT work!

    Kat

  5. I heard about ChaCha from my boss. You would think he wouldn’t (or shouldn’t) tell me about things that would cause a distraction to what I should really be doing. (i. e. Saving the day at work:) But he does anyway. I found someone awesome enough to invite me as a guide.

Helping people find what they are looking for is a lot of fun. I’ve met some very nice and interesting people. Either the guides themselves or people searching too. Searching for different topics definatly raises my awareness to new topics and it’s fun to learn new things.

Thanks for the opportunity to do this! I can’t wait until I get to invite people too:)

I’ve had a number of searchers be amazed that I found what I did and then go on to ask more questions which I could help with. It’s so wonderful to consistently hear that I’ve helped someone find something that seemed to be ‘unfindable’!

  8. I actually have had quite a few pleasant sessions! And I’ve met the nicest people too. So thanks for making something where people can connect. I wouldn’t have ever met some of them without ChaCha. :)

  9. The site is great and dawnl was a great help thanks

The one thing I would like to see is an email or AIM name or something similar if we are having problems because of other guides. It’s too much to explain here, but that would be a great step, like reporting abusers ofthe report abuse button, LOL!!

I have found myself to be highly addicted to being here!! I am a net searcher for the family and friends and do a lot on here anyway, so to be able to help others that try so hard to find something, but maybe are messing up the spelling of something or maybe just not using the right search terms…it’s a good feeling!!

Cheesy? Maybe a bit, but think of how many older folks or adults are out there that just don’t know squat about the computer or the lazy folks who just want a quick answer? Those are the happy ones!!

Well, This is fun……I cha, you cha, we cha for chacha!!! Speaking of being “hungry for love” I would’nt mind meeting someone nice in the ChaCha community. I am a single mom and my latest obsession has been to cha for chacha!!! Just thought that if there’s a single fellow out there over age 30, responsible, loves to Chacha, and God-fearing, contact me.

Justin, if this is an inapproprite request, pls delete. Its just a thought. lol!!:x

  12. How about it?

    Any takers for Anna?

Anna, I bet it would help if you got a picture up on your profile (nudge nudge). In the meantime, you should try to see if ChaCha can find a boyfriend for you and let us know how it works!

  13. Anna said on October 12th, 2006:

Lol!! Thanks Justin. Will find something nice and recent to post and will let you all know if I ever CHACHA TO THE CHAPEL!!!

    A full ChaCha wedding!!

You could have a choir sing Cha Cha Cha-Cha ( to the tune of the wedding march ) your vows could include references to ChaCha as well!!

And you know, someone already does a great job with cakes…just check out that birthday cake!!!

You could send little ChaCha invitations to everyone!

And, if you need any steps in planning your perfect wedding, I recently did a search for that for a lovely young lady for a report…LOL!!

I’ve had at least 20 live info seekers tell me the site is great and they’re going to spread the word. I love that I can log in to work when it is convenient for me. Oh and I bought boots the other day with my earnings. Not because I needed them, because I wanted them!!! (my husband just doesn’t understand about shoes) Having time time to work and never miss when my son does something new, priceless!

  16. Julie said on October 13th, 2006:

But can you do the ChaCha……..so you can dance at the wedding???

I have to say that this is the best idea since sliced bread. I love getting paid for what I love to do. And the ChaCha community is the best! I had the pleasure of talking with Brad about a particular issue with system and just like he promised, it was fixed in less than 24 hours………others take longer than that just to tell you thanks for the request. You guys just keep up your end and we will stick with it through the bugs and all. Wonderful, Great, Best Ever, Terrific, Spectacular……..these are your new key words……………And I think you all will be masters real soon……..and when all the bugs are gone, we may even promote you to ELITE!!! LOL!

What a great thing to be a part of. I helped a guy last night and he was so impressed with the results and the fact that I found what he couldn\’t. He even downloaded the chacha search bar!

I’ve been training the last couple of days and just got promoted to pro! I’m having SO much fun and everyone, without exception, has been so wonderful! Training sessions are easy and smooth..no nerves. It’s almost like talking to a friend! What a great concept and what a great way to make a few extra dollars when you’re at home! Thanks guys!

The other day I had this person said there was a couple Guides coundn’t find what he was wanting. The question was somthing like if my cousin had a baby what would that be to me? Alittle confused so I went to dictionary.com and looked up “cousin”. Then I thought about it and thought to myself. Wouldn’t that be his/her 2nd cousin. So I looked that up at dictionary.com and I was right. I tried searching like family tree, who is my cousin, and a few more.

After the GMA bit on TV I had a person who saw it and was very eager to try ChaCha out. Her search was teaching materials for a seminar she was doing on how to teach teenage parents parenting skills.
After a few minutes of searching.. I was beginning to wonder if I would come up with anything and then I found a great site.
The lady was ecstatic.. she was like WOW.. I used this site a few years back and have had no luck finding it. You are amazing.. I am going to tell all of my friends to give ChaCha a try!

  21. I just had a person ask how they can do better in school, and I really do beleive that I was able to help the person with some valuable articles.

I hope he/she is able to absorb some of that material. This search could really be one that improves the quality of someone’s life. That’s right, I said it. There’s no taking it back now that it’s out there…

ChaCha can improve the quality of your life!

Hello Fellow CHACHAers… I am having so much fun with this site… I love being able to help people searching for things and I am learning alot. I love the training sessions… I get useful info for myself and get to help another guide move on up… “My favorites” is getting full. I get information that I didnt even know I needed. A training session pops up and I see the keyword ..and I’m like… Oh yaaa!!… I wanted to look that up… but never did. This site is great and is going to be awsome once it is up and running… I love that you can post comments in your profile and anyone looking you up can see what you have to say… One more thing… fellow trainers… As a trainer myself… I find that some guides are truly having technical difficulties at no fault of there own… so when I rate them it is based on the quality of their results… not on how fast they gave them to me… It is very distressing to find great results and know that you can’t send them quickly, and your trainer is is asking.. HEllo?… Still there and you are froze and can’t respond… Then when you are finally able to let them know the trouble you are having it doesnt matter they still rate you poorly… SO keep in mind, until ChaCha can fix the glitches .. we can’t go any faster… but the quality is there.. THank you :)

LOL…I just got an info seeker looking for famous fish. After questioning him a bit, he asked about fish from Spongebob. Since I happen to be a huge supporter and fan of the famous liquid absorber, I knew right away there was an episode with the Sea Bear. Body of a fish, but head of a big bear. This sea bear didn’t like Patrick! I was actually able to find part of the story plot that talked about that partiuclar episode. At that point the info seeker confessed their love to me!

I did ask what it was for and why they were so excited but got no reply back. Too bad, I was really interested in hearing the story!!

    ROCK ON SPONGEBOB AND CHACHA!!

  24. JoDean said on October 17th, 2006:

Actually, the sea bear didnt’ like squidward, sorry about that…was so excited to get a spongebob search I forgot who was who. LOL

My sister brought up a great point about ChaCha……..It is the only REAL safe search engine out there. I don’t have to be afraid of my children getting on to do a search and finding some stupid adult site that was not properly rated or whatever. I know that no guide is going to send them something they aren’t supposed to. I love that idea! Makes a great selling point for the advertisers too! HINT HINT

I actually was in best buy this past weekend, I purchases a new laptop, and unfortunately it was bad, so I had to return it. But when returning it, I had to see the geek squad first to confirm it was infact a bad laptop. Long story short, He got me a new laptop and I requested that he open it and hook it up first to see that it in fact worked. so he did. So then he connects it to the internet to make sure that was working. It was, so he pulls up “GOOGLE” I gasped, and stepped back. Saying, you are not suppose to use that site. He looked at me “very”confused. He said, I’m not? I laughed, and said, no! You are suppose to be using ChaCha.com. He looked at me very strange. I guess he thought i was being silly. So I said seriously, its a new search engine, that has actualy human guides, doing all of your searching for you. He said, well I’ve never heard of that. I said seriously go to it. So i had him pull it up right then and there. He said well, well. I’ll have to check that out and tell the fellow geek squad guys about it. You will now be famous for bringing ChaCha to the geek squad. :)

So Not sure if they are using it or not, but the ones in Southern Illinois, now know about it. :) Sorry i just had to share that. If anyone would have heard about it first, i would have thought for sure it would be the geek squad. Guess I was wrong.

  27. We should have a contest! : )

Best profile wins the either the Big cha cha stuffed man, or Justin. Your pick. : )

I see those snazzy chacha t-shirts and am wondering when are they going to be available to us guides…I have four kids who would be proud to wear them cause they think mom’s new gig is really great!

Hey Justin, and Everyone at ChaCha! Wanted to send you all a big hug! I’m working on the new laptop I purchased, completely with my ChaCha earnings!!! (Well, I borrowed from the husband till direct deposit is working) So, for all you new guides, Hang in there, keep working, and you Will make some money!

  31. I just received my first “paycheck” from ChaCha! I’m so excited. I blew it totally on myself, since its extra money I don’t intend on ever adding to the budget. I think everyone that takes care of someone else, should start putting themselves first. I bought ultimate chocolate chip cookies, a small spa kit, and a movie! I may never be seen again! I love Chacha-ing day and night. I get more satisfaction than I ever thought possible, when I help someone find EXACTLY what they want. I even have a little dance when they like my results!!!
I would like to send a huge E-HUG to all the founders. If I drove for 90mins I could give them a real hug. I dunno, that might teeter on stalker-ish! We Love You! We Really Love You!

  32. I’ll take the stuffed man. Hmmm that still doesn’t clear it up, does it?
